V Magazine homage to Salt-n-Pepa (kinda awesome)

Here’s a different kind of post. I was too facinated by this one and its kinda making me realise how old I am but never the less this is just the epitome of retro-honourship – this is a shoot inspired by Salt-n-Pepa in V Magazine! As you can see it has a bit of a strage paradox with Liya Kebede & Lily Donaldson starring as our favourate pop-rap sensation from late 80’s!

This is great work by Josh Oline and Claire Richardson in upcoming March 2010 issue of V

Where I sourced this the writer posed an important question … “what do all theses 90s references mean to the younger end of today’s fashion crowd?” I’d like to answer that really simply – it represents the era they were born and it’s got to be some kind of achievement to be wearing the clothes your momma and poppa were wearing before they thought of you. Whaddya think guys?

London Miles presents Scott C. ‘Everybody, all the time’
I’ve gotta admit that I know only little about this guy Scott C. (Scott Campbell by birth) but I got a little sneak preview of his work the other day and I gotta say that I was really very impressed by his somewhat lighthearted  and mischievous water colours. At first glance I thought, well i’ve seen this before but as I continued to view the paintings not only did I see how skilful it was but i began to read new meaning that became apparent in his fantasy-type but jovial characters. Because its worth seeing yourself im not gonna spoil it for you.
London Miles Gallery is proud to present the first European solo show from acclaimed international comic book artist, painter, illustrator, and computer game designer … Showcasing more than 100 new original watercolour paintings, ‘Everybody, all the time’ delves deeper than ever before into the American’s mischievous and curious imagination to reveal the artist at his idiosyncratic and playful best. Through a multitude of storyboards and illustrated narratives, Campbell renders his escapist daydreams in the form of often-humorous and light-hearted scenarios featuring intriguing and otherworldly creatures. With one of the Comic Art scene’s leading lights presenting an entirely new body of work, ‘Everybody, all the time’ promises to be an exhibition of high entertainment for Comic Book aficionados, followers, and fans of Pop Surrealism alike.
The exhibition will be open on Thursday 4th March 2010, at  47 Mowlem Street. (Off Vyner Street) E29 DR
Tickets are £15 or £12 for students/concessions.
To recieve the online preview, or for more information email: Info@londonmiles.com
