Its common knowledge what the cause for (Red) is but this year it seems alot of manufactures & retailers have stepped it up a gear. On Sunday Nike (Red) has scouted street-bomber Darkbotz to create this awsome set up. This work is piece is part Darkbotz-4

of the Lace Up. Save Lives. program – which is to PR the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in parts of the African continent. This is how Darkbotz themself explains the work:

    “RED represent the laces. White is the African continent symbolized as the heart which is clean and pure. Africa is the 2nd biggest continent on earth. An estimated 22 million infected with HIV. Around 2/3 of the global population. The BIG monster creature is my signature. It represents us. We are the 1/3 of the global population who can help them.”

Admire the work. Admire the collaboration. Admire the end goal. I urge you to part with some of your end of year pocket change to support the campaign - preferably Directly! but if you want the conspicuous consumption that comes with it then go ahead and buy a pair of laces.
