I know we’re only 3 months clear into the year but my album of the year (so far) has gotta be Hudson Mohawke’s Butter. I love everything about it. The album cover and sleave is the shit… its just so fucking nasty but at the same time very appaulingly appealing. Its a truly original album and every track nails it in creativity and sound variety. Anyway this isn’t a review (they take too much time) but I had to show this video and what to expect from Butter.

The video is amazing dont you think? The only thing fucking this up is Olivier Daysoul just being really stupid – which is a shame! But great work never-the-less!

Butter is available now at all good stores!

So only about 2 days ago there was an uproar from national and international press about the latest lady gaga video which i didnt think there was an big deal about as all of what was portayed has been in our faces and under noses (up our noses even) for he past 15 or so years – its as though they want us to make sure we see it, even though we wouldn’t have missed it in the first place. The point is that it was all a bit too much easy PR i wish the press would use about my fucking projects.
Rant over, I hope that what you’re about to see gets at least a quarter of the exposure Gagaoncye got a couple of weeks back. I’m not gonna dwell on the message too much because it will be music to the ears that wanna hear (the message) and be water off a ducks back to those that dont so I hope you’re the musical type (you get me?).

As you’ve just seen in the video is shot by with a Coodie Rock in a style of those early handy camcorders in the 60′s where Erykah leaves a car, walking down the street stripping down starkers with the wit the word ‘Evolving’ written on her back and another key word at the end. BTW she actually did this for real (see below).

And heres another little teaser from the website Jump in tha Air featuring Lil Wayne Georgia Anne Muldrow (as a backing singer) :D

Album drops today and from what I hear its kinda awesome. Might even do a review if i have time spare! I would normally buy here.

I was listening to laidback just a couple of hours ago and couldn’t get this tune out of my head. Starfox Produced by Keudo who I didn’t realise was actually the same dude as Jamie Vex’d. German born, based in UK dropping tracks that sits between Glitch and Dubstep – the sort of stuff that hurts my girlfriends head but gives me so much joy, however surprisingly, she likes it to my extra joy!

The video is nostalgic, actually sampled from the classic SNES game Starfox (Starwing) with the SUPER FX CHIP! Ohhh takes me back! Anyway I leave you this to listen to and if you like it please tell me because I’d love to blog more like this!!!

Keudo / Jamie Vex’d will be playing locally (to me in London) next week at Corica Studios and then again at Thekla in Bristol. See photos below for flyers!

As you do on a Sunday (not a particularly sunny one I might add) I was checking out the tinternet  to find some inspiration and I found this amazing photography set from Virb by Parisian Cedric Thrual (otherwise know just as thual). You would think by looking at this stunning landscape photography that this is his full time occupation but thual actually tells me the contrary.

His occupation by definition is as an architect but he’s been working on this craft since he was 15 and boy does it show!  You see, im not trying to compare but I’ve never posted landscape photography on artificialife up until now because either I’m missing something or work by everybody else is missing something and I could never nail it down until now.

I look at thual’s works and the thing that immediately jumps out at me is something so important in any still-life image (weather on canvas or on film) and that’s Texture. It seeps out without trying (and I’m looking at low-res images) and I see a complete photograph.

My wonder is if this stems from is relationship with materials in architecture or the visa versa. Nice work thual, let us know when your book comes out! If you’re in Paris about this time thual has an exhibition of his works presented by Stéphanie Bacon named Le Lieu Nu on 15th April 2010 between 7pm and 11pm click on the image below for details.
