A little off piste but I had to share this!! Looked at the picture and I though immediately – I dont get it! But watched the video and I got it right away (the video is really simple – love the you gotta love the continentals for that). I can help but appreciate fully the genius that was behind this.

This thing is awesome! I want one today – only I use UK sockets! :( !

This 10 meter Designcord cable reel has a unique and convenient auto rewind roll-up function: just press the button by hand or by foot and the cord automatically retracts. Furthermore this cable reel has fixed sockets. This means that while you wind or unwind the cord, the sockets/plugs and the devices plugged into it remain in place. So no more tangled-up cords. The Autorewind function make the product so much more convenient. It gives you the same ease of use as the cord of a vacuum cleaner.

This one dropped in my inbox today from New York-based artist William Powhida who recently opened exhibition at Platform Gallery (Seattle) includes a series of New York-centric prints about the artworld that double as talismans and hexes and to which he refers to as the Ars Magica portfolio. I like this kinda stuff, not so much the witchcraft itself but the edgyness of it all. Just the idea that one can raise bad ass demonic mother-uffers by drawing pictures and setting light to things!

Seriously though, check out some more of his bits here on the Platform Gallery or just make a visit! I’d go myself but I guess I like it here in London (if I could buy a ticket though i’d be there in a zippy).

Honest, I’m not deliberately trying to be a Francophile but everything these days that is coming from across the channel is flagrantly awesome! This bomb was dropped in Reims (France) by exterior designer Iemza. In England there used to be a TV show for kids called GamesMaster and this work kinda reminds me of that.

I think the main subjects are very ver cool alone but what brings this to life is the block-formed colour merging, the wires but mainly the black dark background with scattered spashes of orange! The whole thing comes together like a beaut!

My characters are distorted and tortured – they scream… there can be different levels of interpretation as far as the central character is concerned: Sometimes it encompasses, encloses, encircles the other characters who themselves, feel stifled and suffocated.

Hmmm!! Nice work Iemza! get in touch!
