The House of Boucheron was founded in 1858, and are creating some exquisite new timeless bejeweled pieces. It’s one of my personal favorite jewelery designers and I can’t wait for the day when I can slip one of their diamonds on my finger.
They were the first jeweler to move to the now famous Place Vendôme in Paris, where legend has it he chose 26 Place Vendôme where Boucheron remains to this day, because it was the sunniest corner of the square. He believed that the diamonds in the windows would sparkle all the more brilliantly. As a woman, like the thought of sparkling diamonds very much.
You now don’t need to jump on the Eurostar to go to Paris to see Mr Boucheron to get your jewelery custom made (yes, they do custom make if you need something special). They in fact opened a boutique in Selfridges, London on 1st June.
Now, back to where I was going with the heading of this blog…Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue…
I am all for getting everything I need in one place so if you are getting married soon, I say Boucheron would be the best place to get all of the above. Something old, well, they were founded 150 years ago so you can’t argue ‘the old’. Something new, that one speaks for itself; you are buying a new piece. Something borrowed, you will have to purchase it on your credit card so it’s definitely borrowed. Something blue, as they custom make items you can go for a beautiful blue sapphire or maybe they can find you one of those elusive blue diamonds.
See, there was system to my madness.
One day, one day…
In Rihanna’s new video, that leaked last night, she is saying no thanks to girl-on-girl action – although if actions speaks louder than words, her words doesn’t seem to be worth much.
She is seen flirting with Laetitia Casta, actress and Victoria’s Secret model, whilst she is singing:
Listen, we can dance but you gotta watch your hands
watch me all night, I’m moving to the light because I understand
that we all need love and I’m not afraid
I feel the love, but I don’t feel that way.
The video was shot in a French castle last month by Anthony Mandler.
The one thing that really caught my eye in this video was the lovely floaty maxi dress Ri-Ri was wearing. It’s by Mara Hoffman from her Spring 2010 collection.
Now THAT dress is worth Rihanna having to telling me to keep my hands off of her – or I’ll rip it of her.
You can see the video here:

One of spring’s hottest trends are nude colors, it was seen on the catwalk on many of the big labels and lots of celebrities have been seen wearing it and it is said to be the ‘it’ color this season. You can choose from shades of light apricot, light pink, camel, coffee, cream or beige, there will be a shade out there that suits you. It will bring a nice change to your wardrobe now that the winter is over and spring has finally arrived. It’s time to swap the LBD for the LND – Little Nude Dress

I’m very excited about the new Garden Collection from H&M, which is made with environmentally adapted materials like recycled polyester, organic cotton and organic linen.
The garments are very romantic, exotic and glamorous looking; with floral patterns which will provide an injection of colour into your wardrobe (especially mine as I’m one of the ‘black is the new black’ girls)…. [..]
Your eyes are not deceiving you, the 90′s bum bag, or fanny pack as they say in America, is back for Spring/Summer 2010. It has been lurking in the fashion corners for a little while and has finally stepped out of the shadow into the basking sunlight. Feeling slightly anxious? Don’t be! Think about all the fantastic summer evenings you can dance away without having that pesky hand bag hanging on your shoulder or holding on to a clutch bag that is so easy to loose once you have had a drink too many – with the bum bag you can go hands free AND look stylish at the same time.
Louis Vuitton has brought the bum bag back in a big way, quite literally, for SS10. In embossed leather with tassels and extra pouches, I dare say this deluxe version is for the extra brave.
Marc Jacobs (who also designed the one for LV) has made bum bags to match his skirts and shorts, so a little more low key.
Ashish has a black studded version which I absolutely love and a yellow juicy colored studded bum bag. Spot on for the 90′s trend.
For a high-street budget you can get some nice looking, slightly smaller, maybe more practical sized, versions from American Apparel in Nylon and Lamé Denim in fab colors. I am sure other high-street brands will follow on soon so keep your eyes peeled.
Still not sure if this is for you? Make up your mind quickly as the fashion rat pack have already got their filthy paws all over these babies!
